What is Music Therapy?

Music Therapy is an evidence based established clinical practice. Therapeutic goals are set depending upon the individual client's needs. It may look like we are just having fun or entertaining but aims specific to the client are being met through the use of music.

What happens in a Music Therapy Session?

Sessions usually last up to 1 hour depending on the specific needs of the client, perhaps more with a group and will involve the Client and Therapist Improvising, Composing or listening to Music after setting some therapeutic goals for the Client. 

Do I need to be able to play an Instrument?

You do not need to be able to play an instrument to benefit from music therapy. A range of percussion instruments, hand clapping, guitar, piano and voice amongst other instruments may be used.
